Although not officially sanctioned as such by any governing body anywhere on this planet that we could find, today, December 19th, is known as Look for an Evergreen Day! Stands to reason since Christmas is only six days away. While some prefer looking for their holiday evergreens in Christmas tree lots set up specifically for that purpose, others go the department store, artificial, pre-decorated tree route, while still others – the purists among us – choose to trek through the snow, among the forested wilds, and over hill, dale, stream and slippery rocks to chop down their very own fresh evergreen. Such is the Griswold family, led by overly optimistic Clark, husband to tolerant wife Ellen, and a pain to long-suffering daughter Audrey, and his more down-to-earth son, Rusty, from 1989’s NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS VACATION.
