Alvechurch Bugle 3 – 112 ( 4 – 11 – 13 ) Business speaks - then the PM. - tomorrow it’s Ed’s turn. So there we have it, the C.B.I. have declared today in London, that its members are convinced that Britain is better off for being in the European Union ! ! ! Well would you Adam and Eve it chaps, and aren’t we all so indebted to them, for sharing with us their convictions on this, as we were always going to have difficulty making up our own minds on the subject weren’t we ? Strange that their conference opened only this morning, yet the pronouncement that : businesses as a whole are FOR our continued membership, was in today’s Telegraph which would have gone to press in the very early hours one assumes, a little news management in operation here perhaps. A figure of £ 78 billion pounds was quoted at the conference, as the amount by which we benefit annually, due to the foresight of those who brought about our membership of the Common Market in 1973. Excellent value for money, when you consider that the total cost of our membership is now estimated to be in the region of £ 150 billion per annum, but then the Chancellor is an Old Etonian, and was never very good at figures During the morning session, Mr Cameron made a totally forgettable, and ill researched speech in support of HS 2, and tomorrow, Ed Balls, who is not in favour of the democratic option of a referendum, is to formally hand next years European election to UKIP, by reassuring conference attendees, that Labour is committed to remaining entirely subservient to the unelected Commission in Brussels , because they can’t think of any policies of their own.
