Always, as the last ribbon is presented at our horse show I feel my heart skip a beat, a lump form in my throat and a sting in my eye as I know that JD Leap into spring has drawn to a close for another year. Jeremy and I are immensely proud of our staff, grateful to our officials and humbled by the extreme kindness demonstrated by our sponsors as each of these individuals are part of our JD family. It is the horses that bring us such extreme joy in multiple facets of our lives. It is watching a successful round, appreciating the beauty of an elegant tail braid, watching a groom take a final swipe with the rag across a boot, seeing a rider smile and a hand pat the gleaming neck of a gentle beast at the end of a trip, hearing the excited voice of a young rider winning their first ribbon that make the hours, days and months of extreme preparation all worthwhile. As each of you know, I consider myself incredibly blessed to be living the dream everyday and I thank you personally for the opportunity to serve each of you in our show family. It is both a pleasure and a distinct honour to present JD Leap into Spring each and every year and please trust me when I say planning for 2015 is well underway. Until we all meet again, may your rides be gentle, your memories beautiful and the love for the horse and the sport plentiful...ox
