The organization doing the marketing isnt going to answer those questions unless theyre asked, and while we can HOPE they are ethical and altruistic and will ensure the money is used effectually, we cannot be certain without transparency. That said, the ALS site did actually do a pretty good job of summarizing where the current research is headed, and laying out milestones ALS research has passed, which is a big part of why I was personally comfortable sending them money.
