Always the rough with the smooth, after our catastrophie with the stolen boat, the carpenter guy who I eventually flew over from England arrived, he hitched here on a passing vessel and immediately started to organise our troops, getting us hauling and sawing and nailing etc. We are making excellent progress with the thatched palapa, and it looks as though were going to fix it up before the hurricane season after all AND using a lot of materials that we happen to have lying around the island that have fallen off the surrounding fence. He has been christened the machine due to his sheer enthusiasm and energy that at 55 puts the rest of us to shame! Only downside is that he insists on wearing a quite baggy g string to work in! -photos to follow...
