Am sure most,if nt all,my school mates remember him,he was our math teacher by name K B Khan a Pakistani.Although i hate mathematics with passion,most especially when u ask me to balance equation,i am nt just cut for that stuff,nt because am dull but i dnt have the patience.That is nt the purpose of this discourse.Most of my mates do not know that despite my hatred for his subject we were then very close,our relationship started the day he met me where i was purchasing cigarret and out of curiosity he asked for u and i answered yes.He bought a packet of cigarret and left,i went my way.I was shocked when he sent for me in the school,i thought as i was moving towards the staff room that if the purpose of this summoning was because of the altercation at the cigarret joint am prepared to deny him.So,with all boldness and seriousness i walked towards his table.U can imagine my shock when he pronounce my name and said If i were ur parents,i will send u to military school,because that is where u belong,i like ur sincerity and frankness he concluded and ask me to go back to the classroom.That was the begining of our relationship that was only known to my close ally then.That singular statement made me what i am today,i began to see myself as a military officer and i began to act same.This was the basis upon which my journey in the military was formed,hw i wish mr K B Khan is around today to see the result of what he said innocently to me almost forty years ago.where ever he is,if he still alive i wish him more fruitful year on the planet earth and if hes gone by way of his ancestors i pray his soul rest in perfect peace.
