Amanda Peet Told Husband David Benioff That Dragons On Game Of Thrones Might Be Asinine Amanda Peet has returned to TV in HBOs new series Togetherness, putting her on the same network as her husband David Benioff, the co-creator of Game of Thrones. And while we all know by now just how badass the Mother of Dragons is, Peet needed some convincing, she told HuffPost Lives Ricky Camilleri on Thursday: In the beginning, when [Benioff] was telling me about the show, you know, I hadnt read the George Martin books, and I was like, What do you mean? What do you mean when you say theres a dragon on the show? Surely were not gonna see a dragon because thats asinine. And he was like, No, yeah, theres a dragon. And I was like, Well, surely youre not gonna show it? Its gonna be like Jaws, where Steven Spielberg famously kept hiding [the shark]. ... [And David said], Yeah, yeah, no, were gonna do that. And then no, you see the dragon. Another challenge of being married to the GoT showrunner is knowing the shows shooting schedule. Peet said she has been known to freak out with worry when she runs into cast members while her husband is filming in Belfast, for fear that theyve been killed off. When I see cast members, like if I see Kit Harington in LA, I get terrified if Davids shooting because Im like, What are you doing here? Why arent you in Belfast? Whats happening to Jon Snow that youre here and not in Belfast right now?
