Amazing weekend!!! Although a different one than we thought we were going to have. Steve and I were one of several local residents honored with the Presidents Award for Volunteer Service. This is a National Award given out to people who have a lifetime of Community Service. This was a BIG surprise that we found out about only a week ago. Our nomination was researched by wonderful local resident Bill Irwin, who is a member of the Cumberland Co. AOH and the Scottish Military Society. We love you Bill!!! (He is our Celtic Santa) The other honorees included several active duty Military and retired Marines. We were in good company and EXTREEMLY honored to be there. Our award was presented at the National Army History Museum in Carlisle and the Commander presented it to us. Thank you again Bill, the commander and everyone present...We are thrilled!!!! We got a really cool certificate, a signed letter from the president and great photos to hang in our shop.
