They currently charge (and presumably will continue to charge) small merchants 2.9% to do the “free and easy” sales tax collection. This is amazing. On the one hand, they claim that the compliance costs will be free and easy, and on the other they plan to charge for the collection services (presumably because it will take significant time and resources for them to do it).
