Amazon’s sleazy campaign to punish Hachette publishing hit the headlines yesterday. They tell people their books will take two weeks to ship (they dont, they ship fast), they offer lower (and in some cases no) discounts than say Barnes & Noble, and they suggest you might want to read a better and cheaper book in their search results (“Similar items at a lower price). This makes me more inclined than I already was to buy local (and I dont mean South Lake Union). Its time for an anti-trust prosecution. Amazon sells fully 1/3 of all books.
