Amen!! Just the other day, Me and my daughter were alone in the house, and we heard someone trying to get in. She ran to me crying. I took her to the furthest bathroom in our house, which was also behind 2 locked doors and I called the police! I told them I had a gun, an d we were locked in the bathroom. Then we heard what sounded like someone in the room, right outside the door, I kept yelling whose there and no one would answer...then I screamed I had a gun and all the noise stopped. The dispatcher told me the police were there and it was safe to put down my gun and meet the officers at the front door. Here, our roommate had stayed at a sleep clinic for the night and we didnt think about it because he goes nowhere, ever, and he was banging on different windows throughout the house trying to get our attention, well every time I went to one place that I heard the noise, he must have gone to another one. At one point, he resorted to finding a screw driver and was trying to pry his way in. When I walked out, the police had him spread eagle, face down on the sidewalk.....first thing he said was thanks Kelly! lol. ISo, I told them he was my roommate and I apologized to the police. They said there was no need to apologize, they were just glad it ended the way it did instead of there really being an intruder, or me not being a responsible gun owner and shooting out of fear....only shoot at last resort! We have been having many many home invasions around here, and a 14 year old girl was just attacked in her home a few days back. Thank God she was able to get away. They said it actually makes their job easier when people are able to protect themselves until they can get there. So, I felt like an idiot after it was over, but also felt more confident in handling myself in the case of a real event! And, my roommate eventually did forgive me...lol
