I saw this on a random FB post about David Platt as the new president of the International Mission Board (a missionary sending agency): An easy yoke is still a yoke and an easy burden is still a burden. Christianity isnt about you getting your warm fuzzy at a Sunday morning rock concert while some hip dude in a cool shirt gives you life skills tips about money and marriage that he borrowed from reruns of Oprah and Dr. Phil (but at least he sprinkles a few out-of-context Bible verses in there to make it seem religious.) It is about dying to yourself and living in the power and mission of a God who isnt content to leave you on your sofa seeking your best life now. Platt brings a reminder about the cost of discipleship that lazy, selfish almost-Christians desperately need.
