America - What Have You Become? Examiner The federal government is going around Tennessee holding Muslim education meetings. The purpose, according to a June 4 article on Townhall, is to explain to residents that they can be arrested for criticizing Muslims on social media such as Facebook or Twitter. One such meeting was held Tuesday night at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center in Manchester, Tenn., according to a June 5 report on The Times-Free Press. The meeting was sponsored by the American Muslim Advisory Council of Tennessee. A loud crowd showed up to protest what they viewed as an assault on The First Amendment and Free Speech. Be sure and view the attached video to see similar things happening in the UK. People there have been arrested for posting anti-Muslim statements on Facebook. There have been at least a dozen of these Muslim education meetings in Tennessee. This one was called "Public Disclosure in a Diverse Society." The meetings appear to be prompted by the actions of a Tennessee lawmaker who posted an anti-Muslim meme on Facebook, but they actually began two years ago when Tennessee was considering passing a law banning Sharia, the strict Muslim law. Todd Starnes interviewed the U.S. Attorney Bill Killian who assured him that these efforts toward preventing anti-Muslim rhetoric were not about a progression toward Sharia Law. Starnes, however, details the concerns of Judicial Watch and The Tennessee Freedom Coalition. You can read about that on Town Hall. It is important to note that the Tennessee Freedom Coalition has been branded as a “domestic hate group” by the U.S. Army.
