American Me a movie review submitted by Angelita Rose Aguero Oh my... where to begin esa this movie is a challenging one....orelay A lineage of Hispanic family members are connected together through a gang called prima, and this is a tale of there life in and out of prison as they try to take control to protect themselves, there families and try and create a revolutiona for a better life for there people. There are parts of the movie i found thought provoking, emotionally hard hitting, and overall brilliantly put together. Its hard to give much detail because there really inst a whole lot going on throughout. Prison Family Murder and a WHOLE lot of rape and i mean an uncomfortable amount of rape... how much is to much you ask 1 vaginal rape, and 3 anal rapes... yes 4 rapes in total. so this makes this a difficult movie to recommend to anyone regardless of how good other parts may be. you enjoy rape? well i have a movie your going to love overall the art direction was refreshing and spot on for the theme they were aiming for. The narration was a bit much as it took away from the natural plot development of the movie. The movie was said to be based on real events but i find some of the moments to be too preposterous to be even a vague representation of what really happened. overall, i wouldnt recommend you go out of your way to watch this movie, however, if it happens to be on cinimax after dark ( rape hours) then go ahead and give it a watch overall rating 5/10 jay stay tuned for tomorrows movie north by northwest suggested by B Nathaniel Sharp
