Amtrak 20 into Clemson at 2244 hrs., 28 minutes off the card. One stop, both sleepers and coaches spotted on the platform to work both ends simultaneously. I had the pax out on the deck, ready to load, and I saved the crew several minutes by carrying the bags of two elderly folks forward the three or so car lengths that the coach pax all had to walk to board. Just cant get railroading out of my soul. Looked the part, too, in my Amtrak parka, fedora, and railroad safety shoes (which double for my dining hall footwear), pretty much what I wore as a car attendant. 8 off, 4 on, coaches; 1 on, sleeper. Departed Clemson at 2248 hrs. Consist: P42DC 96, P42DC 98; Amfleet II coaches 25063, 25013, 25097 25018; Amfleet II lounge 28007; Heritage diner 8504; Viewliner sleepers 62024, 62019; bagg 1717 (converted coach). My good deed for the day.
