Amtrak train to Hudson right now: the conversation happening behind me for the past hour is quite literally a hybrid of an episode from Portlandia and Girls. Here are some highlightsfrom my seat: 1. No I dont agree that you are selling out as a writer if you work at a fairly well known magazine that pays you a steady(and probably pretty nice?)salary. I also dont think you should quit that job to be a freelance writer in this economy... holy crap, but thats jmho. 2. Coffee loaded with cream, sugar and chocolate (from stump hump or wherever the heck you bought it in brooklyn) is for people who hate coffee and love milk shakes .. girl #2 teehee, like totally omg, that qualifies ... what??? 3. Im so sorry you met two guys who were really nice to you on match: one of whom you asked to reserve an iphone for you on your first date(and he did!!!) bc he was at the store already AND whom you now believe must be gay; the other one you discarded because HE thought sleeping with you for 3 months meant you might be in a relationship!!!! Also girl #2 responds: well even if he isnt gay, your suspicions confirm hes definitely not your type 4. How to pronounce the word fetishsize took up about 7 minutes of this ride so far and has made not one but two comebacks at different junctures of the trip. 5. I want to find the most hipster coffee place in Hudson when we get there that has free wifi 6. Look at that house its so pretty. Its so huge and perfect! I want a house. Girl #2 ewww its gross, it has vinyl siding and that would just depress me, even if someone gave me the house for free I wouldnt live in it 7. did you read the latest article in the new yorker ... of course! did you read the... did you read the... did YOU read... WOW. didnt realize I would be getting in-train entertainment today! :-)
