Amy and I were talking tonight about a certain point of view we as Christians always seem to take that we probably should not. It is one that the world always takes it seems, but, that is the world and they are not of Christ. We started our discussion around the verse in Romans 8:31 if God be for you who can be against you?, the idea being that our world is often centered around us, around what we want, what we think serves us best, and we speak as if we expect God to weave the fabric of society around our needs. The truth is that God is for us because we have chosen to be for Him. In a sense God is always for us, He is always for everyone coming to Him, but in a much truer sense as we align ourselves more closely with God it is His plans, His purposes that guide us. And when we allow that to happen we truly can say with all confidence that God is for us, and no one can stand against us. Other believers obviously wont if they also are in alignment with Gods plans and purposes, and only a fool thinks that he can stand against the will of the Almighty. Though I suppose we have a world full of fools anymore, fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and there sadly are not all that many people who reverence Him anymore. I guess what I am saying is that it is important to have the correct perspective. It is God first, then all else follows naturally. Set your sights on His plan and He will truly make your path straight. I am not saying that the path might not contain pain, or even possibly death, but the truth is, except for very few people, we all die. What is important is how we live.
