An Akita nightmare..... Its been both my personal experience & from what I hear, many others the same, that most Akitas hate to get their feet wet and many dont want to have anything to do w/ water. My girl Hanjie would swim in the ocean w/ me & she would swim in the pond at the park, going after ducks (I kept her one a long line & never let her catch them). Hanjie didnt particularly care for the rain or wet yards. My girl Autumn doesnt like wet grass, but will stand on the patio getting rained on for no apparent reason, just surveying her realm. 3 of my guys: Rocky, Hammer & Okii mostly had to be walked outside on a leash if it was raining, but would deal w/ wet grass after the rain, if they had no other choice. Baku will go out & do what he needs to in the rain (if I shut the door in his face), but he comes back ASAP. Of course, he does that anyway; kind of a hold-over from when he was chained up Im guessing.
