An Allegory: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client the Republican Party is Not Guilty of murder. Yes, they kidnapped Lady Liberty. Yes, they held a gun to her head. And yes, they threatened to blow out her f*&*#%^n’ brains unless she immediately gave them her ObamaCare wallet. BUT SHE REFUSED! Thus, it was her choice to die! She knowingly and voluntarily chose her own fate. Indeed, my client the Republican Party did not even really want to kill her…not really…even though the Republican Party’s most fundamental belief is that the least government is the best government so a government shutdown was definitely in their interest and the interests of their Big-Business Corporate Puppet Masters (especially Big Medical Insurance). But motives are totally and completely irrelevant here: The hard yet sad reality is that Lady Liberty committed suicide by simply refusing to amicably and promptly comply with the Republican Party’s eminently reasonable demand to turn over her ObamaCare wallet—plain and simple as the trunk on an elephant’s face. Thus, it is your legal duty to find the GOP “not guilty” of murder, and to recommend the immediate indictment of the real criminal here…President Obama. Thank you, and God bless.
