An Emirati military jet has crashed during a routine training mission in the Persian Gulf country, and the pilot has died in the incident. The United Arab Emirates Armed Forces General Headquarters said in a statement that the aircraft went down on Monday, and aviation authorities are inspecting the scene to investigate the causes of the accident. In early May, a US-made F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet crashed during a training mission in the United Arab Emirates, but both pilots ejected from the plane safely. Another warplane operated by the United Arab Emirates air force also crashed during a training mission in July 2011. The pilot died in the incident. In November 2010, a UAE air force jet crashed in the northern emirate of Ras al-Khaimah. The pilot, who also died in the crash, had been on a training mission when his Hawk aircraft came down.
