An Enigma An enigma is a book that is replete with figures of speech and technical terms; anyone can predict the weather and the behaviour of an average mind, but not so an enigma. Just like a scientific book strictly requires a professional hand to handle, so it is with an enigma. It takes only an enigma to read and understand as well as write an authentic biography of another enigma. Write your will before you imitate an enigma to avoid dying intestate: anyone who needs to cook like an enigma would cook without salt. To brush like an enigma, your mouth would disgrace you in public. In school, the life of an enigma leads students astray. According to Yache folk-tale, in the early centuries, there lived a tortoise and a leopard. The tortoise lacked everything in the eyes of the leopard even though he was the only one with an invisibly uncommon feature in the whole land. While the well built physique of leopard helps him to enjoy the privileges of one with the naked power, tortoise was seen as a miserable animal by members of leopard family and other members of the animal kingdom. One day, in the winter, Leopard full of pride because of his oppressive physique and energy, thought of proving publicly to Mr. Tortoise his supremacy over him, by so doing, he dragged him into a building contest. A trophy was set for any of the two sides who would first complete the building of a house called ndola utsti roughly translated as thatch house in English. Confronted by this serious challenge, tortoise thought of what to do, he jogged his brain and recalled how his grand father applied their uncommon wisdom to beat lion red and blue in a wrestling match in the bygone era. Even before he could come up with an idea to help him beat up almighty leopard in the contest, leopard and his family members had gone mid flight in their construction work. When tortoise peeped and discovered that leopard had built close to lintel level, he sent his family members to his construction site; bit by bit, slowly but steadily they went on with their own building projects. Meanwhile, the more tortoises family tries to increase the speed of their inputs, the more leopard and his family would jeer at tortoise. With the enigmatic trait of tortoise, he devised a means of attraction to cause distraction in order to slow down the performance of leopard. So, he picked up his tambourine and located the path that is used by leopard and his family members to transport their building materials to their plot. There, he dropped his tambourine and he courageously and gorgeously sat astride the drum like congo, the palm-wine tapper does when climbing palm tree as early as 6:00am to tap his wine for early Igbo Ogidi market men, for their libation before Ogidi market. Immediately he hailed leopard, a lot of captivating themes started appearing on his mind of which leopard was cut out of the picture. The more tortoise hails leopard, the more the ideas come through the hollow output part of the drum. Tortoise who never praise leopard because of the constant oppression from leopard suddenly became a praise singer. While his praise songs attract leopard and his family, they were distracted from their building project. While on the other hand, tortoise family had reached the verge of completion of their building. The more he thuds the drum on his armpit, the more leopard and his family demonstrate their latest dance skills. The dance continued until it was dusk. Now, it was time for exhibition of their buildings. While tortoises family had applied their sense of concentration and got their house project completed through their slow and steady modus operandi, leopard who fell for the trick of attraction to gain attraction, woefully fell prey; his house was just completed halfway while tortoises house was fully completed. The lifestyle of an enigma is not to be copied sheepishly. An enigma applies the trick of attraction and distraction to conquer the Goliath. This was what helped tortoise to pick the trophy in the contest against almighty leopard. An enigma is blessed with the power of concentration to gain attraction to make distraction possible to conquer his rivals.
