An Evening with CS Lewis at the Paramount Center for the Arts CS Lewis, a man whose writings have established him as one of the most influential authors of his day has been dead for over 40 years, yet almost all of the British author’s books are still in print and still enjoying considerable success. On Sunday evening, November 3 at 7:30 PM the Paramount Center for the Arts will play host to “An Evening with CS Lewis.” The show has proved to be an enthralling theatrical experience for thousands who have attended its performances and is a fascinating and riveting insight into the life of a man whose collected works made him one of the literary giants of the 20th century. British actor, David Payne, has gained a considerable reputation for his portrayals of the famous author CS Lewis. He has played Lewis in a number of productions of Shadowlands, in his self-pinned Weep for Joy and in numerous presentations of his much acclaimed one-man show An Evening with CS Lewis. Payne, who lives in the UK, is touring the United States with the show and will be stopping in Bristol for one performance only. “Tickets are expected to go fast for this unique event. We were very excited about bringing this level of performance to the area. All the reviews are just astounding,” said Darlene Cole, Manager of the city’s venues. Lewis, best known for his classic children’s series – The Chronicles of Narnia first launched in 1950 with the publication of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, all seven books remain among today’s favorite children’s novels; three of which have been turned into block buster movies.
