An FB FRIEND (Fred Winston) shared this post on my Newsfeed. I find the story amusing after-all it was a playful pretense ( make believe script equivalent to a local television show WOW MALI!but at the same time disdainful as its topic was Imbued with malevolent perception of skin color (racial) discrimination meant to elicit various reactions / opinions from the barbershop customers (audience)... I felt a close affinity to this discrimination, although not racial, however in guise of disparity of the rich and poor in our society. The poor or marginalized group taking the bigger chunk of poverty & deprivation of human right to a dignified comfortable life brought about by the unbridled corruption because of a toothless implementation of laws, a paradigm of greed and non direction of a staunch rule on matters affecting personal vested interest, a weak leader who succumbs to de riguer Pilipino Utang na Loob, etc. Just similar to this Barbershop post how are the desolate and wretched victims expected to react in their dismal situation? What are they to do: keep mum and bear the brunt, do pep talk to compensate their powerlessness, join rallies-street march, and / or bravely echo their emotional sentiments for example by participating in well meaning radio programs, like Opinion Mo Opinion Ko (OMOK, DWWW 774) which aim to foster truth and develop national patriotism, hoping against hope that an Angel will bring the suppliant pleas and prayers to the heavenly throne? Only God can help redeem the hopeless from slavery caused by dereliction of govt officials voted unwisely. NOW WHAT PILIPINOS? What do you say and do when justice is obliterated by a decaying system?.. What an obnoxious glaring prevalent political color discrimination!.. Dung!
