An Open Letter to Audience and Performers Hello one and all. I should start by introducing myself. My name is Dan Field and i am the organiser/host/MC of the comedy nights at The Golden Lion in Bexleyheath. I started running this show as a lot of people love comedy. A lot. However there wasnt many places in the local area that ran regular nights (of any level) so i have taken it upon myself to right this wrong The open mic format is used for our gigs so that new and established acts can come and perform short sets for a new audience who may never have seen them otherwise The reason we have done it as a ticket event is so that (hopefully) people will come to the night purely for the comedy as opposed to making noise....thus ruining the experience for everyone. Our tickets have been set as £3. £1 of this will go directly to charity. The charity will be a different one each month. So not only are you going to have a good laugh, you will be helping a good cause :-) All i kindly ask is that if you have a great time at the night that you help spread the word of the events so more people will come.
