An Open Letter to Shri.Advani Respected Sir, - TopicsExpress

An Open Letter to Shri.Advani Respected Sir, I have been watching with dismay, the epileptic fits you have been having ever since your party veered down to the view that Narendra Modi will be the face for the 2014 elections. Initially, I dismissed reports to this effect as the mischief mongering of the media, which has become the alter ego of the Congress but your resignation drama confirmed the fact that you are unhappy. Now, with elections not very far away and the Congress once again coming up with a freebie(food Security bill) which is likely to become another money churner for their party like the MNREGA in the long run and a vote catcher in the short term, the time has come for your party to bite the Modi bullet and once again you and your acolytes have started to play hide and seek. Will your team please come out in the open and tell your party, supporters and the substantial neutral voters out there as to why Modi’s candidature is being opposed? You owe us this. Are you going to repeat the opposition line that Muslims will not vote for the BJP because Modi will butcher them once he comes to power, he is fascist, a bad dictator etc. Is this not completely opposite to the kind of politics you have practiced and the kind of politics you have opposed in your entire career? With such views, you do not deserve to continue in the BJP even for a moment. OR Do you have a better alternative in mind ? If Yes who is that – Yourself, Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Singh Chouhan ,Raman Singh or some other? With due respects to the administrative capabilities, leadership skills of the above including yourself, can the country be inspired to unite behind any one of them and overthrow a regime which deserves to be kicked out? The answer Sir is a resounding ‘NO’ We are a unique nation in that most of us do not have the concept of India/Bharat. We never vote for the country but always vote on local issues irrespective of whether the polls are being held for the corporation, the Assembly or for the Lok sabha. Add the fact that we have been successfully and hopelessly divided on caste/ subcaste, religious lines and Money/Muscle power play a big role in deciding the winner. Both of the above makes the system itself look unsuited for the country. But since we have to work with this and the Congress is the go-to party always because of the fact that they have been around the longest, parties like yours will have to go the extra mile to snatch power from them. Either you play their dirty game the better way or provide an alternative face, an agenda and vision which will inspire the people to rally around. Like it or not, Modi is the only man in your party now who has the skills to do that. Wishing away this fact is unbecoming of a senior person like you. It looks so embarrassing that to deny Modi, instead of pushing for a forthright victory, you are wishing for a scenario where the BJP ends up with 180 + seats and you can attract the Nitish’s, Mamta’s, Jaya’s, Naveen’s to rally around yourself or Sushma or Chouhan or some one else You seem to have forgotton that if you play for a draw, you will lose and here you want to play for a loss and hence will end up getting wiped out. Please remember the RSS motto of ‘Country first’, stop acting like a kid whose lollipop is getting snatched away and more importantly behave with dignity that your age deserves. Please allow this country to be given an alternative to the Weak, Insipid, Corrupt, Visionless, Toothless, Unpatriotic, Subversive,Token welfarism governance that Manmohan, Sonia, Rahul and the entire Congress have dished out not just in the last decade but whenever/wherever they have ruled. Thank you, Regards, A worried Indian
