An amazing experience, that reminded me how people can actually - TopicsExpress

An amazing experience, that reminded me how people can actually choose to behave in circumstances that are typically stressful and ill tempered. Yesterday, I was driving in front of Orion Mall, and thanks to the shoddy work by BBMP, the previous nights rain had rendered a poorly filled road cutting into a deep ditch right across the road. A scooterist who was in front of me (quite unnecessarily, perhaps) chose to come to a complete halt while navigating this ditch, instead of crossing it slowly as any one would expect, and I managed to stop in time to avoid a collision and serious injury to him. Unfortunately, I wasnt as lucky, and my car was rear-ended by another car. I groaned internally, and was preparing myself for a fight and got out of the car, to find the other car owner already out of the vehicle and expressing his profound concern for my well-being and assuring me that he accepted that it was his nephews (who was the driver) fault and offered to bear the expense for the repairs. I had no hesitation in shaking hands, calling him a thorough gentleman, for ensuring that the exchange to be civilised and cordial. I have seen others in similar situations which degenerate into a slanging match and ends in much bitterness. As I was rushing for a meeting, we exchanged cards and went our ways. I really didnt expect much even after this, but that amazing gentleman called me, fixed up to meet at the authorised Bodyshop, undertook all expenses and even apologised for stranding me without a car for a week while dropping me home. I wish everyone on Bangalores roads behaved like this. The City would be Paradise! The best part is, that we have decided to keep in touch and explore business opportunities together!
