An exciting initiative by our friends from Block Pooling: Have you stared at your block and wondered about all the people who lived in it? We all have. We see our neighbours at the lift lobby or at the mailboxes and often we think that they look like nice people that we would like to meet. But the thought flashes by very quickly, and the lift arrives at our floor and we move on with our lives. We think, There’s no real reason for me to be friendly, so better keep to myself. So we at BlockPooling.sg, together with Ben & Jerry’s and the Singapore Kindness Movement, have launched “Neighbour Professional Networking” to give neighbours good reasons to connect. The idea is that all the neighbours that we have can be very valuable resources for us to tap into. Somebody could give some valuable advice, some have access to products and can get discounts; still others can help with contacts and references. To further incentivize the connections, Ben & Jerry’s is sponsoring 2000 pints of ice-cream (worth $14.50 each) and the Singapore Kindness Movement is giving away a cooler bag filled with utensils, toys and books (worth $30 each). All this is done at BlockPooling.sg, the social network for neighbours (we group users by postal codes so you can interact with your same-block neighbours easily). There’s never been a better time to connect with your neighbours!
