An experience while teaching in the Prison last Sunday. Christmas is a difficult time of the year for those incarcerated in our prisons. Many have been forgotten and abandoned by those who once gave them birth, often due to the severity of their crime. But our Savior has offered forgiveness to all who come seeking it with a humble heart and contrite spirit. With that hope in their hearts, we ended our time together last week with this hymn. As we ended, no one moved. Not one inmate closed his book or made any attempt to stand up. It was a moment in time where the healing power of music, combined with the hope of the atonement came together in love and harmony. Please enjoy this hymn as you begin your day of worship.
