An important note about the 2015 NT Championships... The NTTBA - TopicsExpress

An important note about the 2015 NT Championships... The NTTBA Board has, at the repeated request of our major sponsor the Northern Territory Government, conducted an extensive review of previous Northern Territory Championships and the participation numbers. This was done in order to meet our Key Performance Indicators to the NT Government. We need to maximise the participation and encourage new members to participate in these events. The Government’s view on this is that all NT Championships should be held in the highest membership demographic, which in the case of tenpin bowling, is Darwin. The Board understands the Government’s policy on this, but also believes that as a Territory Board we have a duty to govern and make decisions for the whole of the tenpin bowling community in the Northern Territory. To this end, and in order to as much as possible meet our funding Key Performance Indicators, but also as a duty to all bowlers in NT, the NTTBA Board has resolved to change the Northern Territory Championship roster to a 2 to 1 rotation - ie: two consecutive Championships in Darwin (being 2014/2015) & one in Alice Springs (being 2016). Another review will be undertaken after the 2016 Championships, and the future of the 2 to 1 rotation will depend on the participation numbers of the local bowlers in each area. We are sending this notification now in order to maximise the time available for bowlers planning to travel. Travelling bowlers will be supported with a share of the travel allowance granted to us from the Northern Territory Government. The amount of travel allowance for each travelling bowler is determined by the number of bowlers who travel and compete.
