An instance Ive been in before multiple times, many peoples arguments would say to just comply and youll be fine. Ultimately, in complying with officer demands that are perused unlawfully, seems like subjugation. I want to believe that in my world there is not very much prejudice, growing up I shielded myself from the thought of these things. Ive had good and bad experiences with police, I can definitely say that there is a consistent pattern with my negative experiences and I wish that were a lie. Jim Crow laws may seem to have been eliminated, however it is true that men like myself have to follow a set of rules (to the letter) to be taken seriously, to be employed, to be educated, and ultimately to keep your life. We have to make our place in a society that was not meant for us. In that, Ive armed myself with knowledge, and a positive attitude. This year has been a bad one for police brutality and unconstitutional practices. I will never riot. I will not contribute to the destructive nature thats hung over our heads in these dark times. But I refuse to be silent. Im on a mission to spread consciousness, not just for the blacks, for the whites, yellows, browns, reds, greens... Doesnt matter the color because we are all utensils in this great patchwork we call Earth. Spread love you guys, I know a few guys becoming cops so I know they arent all bad, killing with kindness is the best weapon, but my mental Kevlar vest is always on. :P
