An observation this evening that I truly hope and pray the powers - TopicsExpress

An observation this evening that I truly hope and pray the powers that be at the Animal Foundation pay close attention to. Lowered adoption fees and strong promotion have brought the total pages of animals at their facility from 50 (dogs & puppies-I forgot to check cats & kittens) just the other night to 38 this evening! That is AMAZING!!! Their regular adoption fees are typically $105 to sometimes over $200. Rescues may charge in that ballpark, however; they dont have the same subsidized veterinary care nor the financial backing for medical, boarding, food donations, etc...SO, I often wonder why regular, everyday adoption fees are not lowered to more reasonable levels. If they ask my input, I recommend $60-100. Wouldnt volume of animals successfully adopted equate to more money vs. higher fees with fewer animals making it out the FRONT door, not being housed so long, not killing as many animals AND not having to put urgent pleas out, threatening death for these homeless animals (but investing in positive marketing of the animals in their care)? All business (for profit or nonprofit) have to welcome change that would benefit all parties involved, isnt getting more spayed and neutered pets into good homes the most important thing as you make more revenue because of it? Thats just awesome proof you make a GREAT business decision!
