An older man came into the pizzeria this afternoon, sat at the bar alone and ordered a meatball sandwich. (For those of you who dont know, we hand roll all of our meatballs using an old Catanzaro family recipe.) After he finished his sandwich, he stood up and said ya know, those were some of the best meatballs Ive ever had,....then his voice cracked and with tears in his eyes he continued, my wife just passed away and I havent had meatballs in over three months, so thank you for that delicious sandwich. He began to cry and left. My heart is broken for this kind gentleman, but I am so happy we could provide him with a taste of home. This just proves you truly never know what people are going through. So glad we could make his day.
