An open letter to The Master Dear Sir, From the first exposure to the word “cricket”, we have always heard a name, which had been used as synonym of the game itself and that name is of thy own self. Our Generation had grown up,watching you play cricket, and had followed your each and every mannerism. Even till now, when a kid in is home, playing cricket with his brothers and sisters, hit the small boundary on the concrete floor, he comes two steps forward,just to have a put on the floor, just like you do to Put the extra grass on the pitch down, A kid in some muddy field, still gives a nod with his face, whenever he analyse the field position, just like you do. In short if we say that for us meaning of cricket is Sachin Tendulkar, then it won’t be wrong. We have not only taken you as an Idol cricketer but also as an Idol person, and for us , the fans, you are a part of our life. Whenever we switch on our TV sets and start watching cricket, we expect that wewill see you playing, because there is nothing more of treat to our eyes, then watching you destroyingthe opposition bowling. I decided to write this letter to you,because I want to say on the behalfof all the fans across the world thatyou have to prove nothing. We know that these are very difficult times for you. Firstly that much hyped 100th 100, to which we ensure that even if hadn’t happen, our love for you wouldn’t have diminished even by a centimetre, because we know what toil it had taken from you to get the other 99 and then two of your most favourite deputies retired, would rather say being forced to retire, and then the talk about your own retirement, at the back of the mind you must have these things still going on, And we know that just like always it had been, you want toanswer all your critics via bat.The only thing which, we the fans, want to say that, please don’t let these things overcome you. We thefans want to see our sachin like he had always been, playing freely, thinking nothing but about the game. We don’t care about the people who call you selfish, peoplewho are now talking about your footwork, people who are talking between the hole created between your Bat and pad or people who are advising you to retire. Even if you get out bowled 10 more times, we will still not care about these things. The only thing we care is you. We just want that whenever our Sachin is on the field, the bowlers should know that Sachin Tendulkar is there, and if they try to surprise you, they should be reminded whom they are bowling too and what could happen to them. We Just want that you shouldbe carefree to all these things and till you are there for us you should always be enjoying your game, andbe in your nature mould.We as a fan are so selfish that we want that you should play forever, but we know the age being on the wrong side, one day the saddest moment of our lives will surely come, with your retirement, but tillthen we just expect that our Sachinto be Our Sachin.
