An organization to offer financial aid and support to 12 year old - TopicsExpress

An organization to offer financial aid and support to 12 year old Hank Gibbs as he fights Parry Romberg Syndrome. Parry Romberg Syndrome is an extremely rare, progressive auto-immune disease that causes neurolgical problems and hemi-facial atrophy meaning it wastes half the face away. Only about one in 6 million worldwide have this disease!! We have found a specialist in NYC who has had success halting the progression. Hank had his first major surgery in July 2009 and the revision surgery on Dec. 2, 2009, with a third surgery in July 2010. All surgeries were performed in NYC. Hank has been doing great and we believe the surgeries were successful. Hank had his 4th surgery on October 3, 2012 at the American Family Childrens Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Hank seems to be experiencing complications from that surgery and we are seeking advice from an affiliate surgeon at UCSF. Our fear is that this last surgery will need to be repeated... We have since realized that Hank will be indeed needing another surgery and has been scheduled for June 2014 in Madison. Fundraisers are being held for medical bills, travel costs and Hanks care and a trust account has been set up on Hanks behalf at: Union Bank Helping Hands For Hank Trust 3840 Broad Street San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 (805) 544-3572 Contacts: Stephanie or Charmaine HelpingHandsForHank.webs
