An unfortunate part of the industry we love: the contractor who walks up to your boiler, furnace, air conditioner or heat pump, looks at the model number, and quotes you a replacement cost on the spot. Shameful! This person is showing you he/she doesnt care about you at all, isnt concerned about your comfort, and wasnt thinking about your energy bill or Mother Earth. No wonder that 40% of us dont save a penny after the installation of high efficiency equipment, or that our duct systems are performing at 57% of their intended capacity. Fortunately, we have a great weapon against these pocket-liners. Should one show up at your house, offer a shot of three-oh-seven-oh. Thats the size of the average front door. Use it.
