An update on my husband: He spent a long time in surgery, but the surgery was done in two parts. When the surgeon first looked at things, he was pretty shocked. The large intestine and a significant part of the small intestine had necrosed. This isnt what they expected to find, and believe this was not caused by a hole in the intestine, but rather by an embolism. So the surgeon came out and told us we could do one of two things. Make him comfortable and let him live out the small bit of time he would have left or do all they can do for him, even though it would mean an ileostomy and tube feedings for the rest of his life. We said we wanted him to live in spite of those things, because we knew he would want that. So, even though it meant more operation under terrible odds, that is what they did. He made it through, and tomorrow he will be operated on again to clean up inside him and take out packing, and he will get his ileostomy. He is still in very critical condition, but is stable. So that is where we are right now. I will update tomorrow. Thank you everyone for all the prayers. Please continue them a bit longer. We are counting on them. You are all so appreciated! With love...
