An update on the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine and Food Festivals Wine Spectator Top 100 Scavenger Hunt Count Down. Bill Stimson, our head hunter, has confirmed that we have 99 of the top 100 Wines of the list Wine Spectator with just 1 to go. The Amazing Bounty Hunter Award of the week goes to Audrey Kirchner. We were looking for 2 bottles of the 2010 Reynvaan Syrah Walla Walla Valley Stonessence which is #11 on the Top 100 list but without question one of the hardest wines to find anywhere in this world. Audrey found this wine on the wine list on Wolfgang Pucks famous restaurant Spago in Beverly Hills, CA. Audrey cold called them and ended up persuading the Director of Beverage at The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group to donate two bottles of this precious wine to the Festival. Wow is all I can say. All these wines will be offered as part of the Live Auction on Saturday, May 17th as part of the 2014 MidAtlantic Wine and Food Festivals Visa Signature Gala Winemakers Dinner at the Hotel DuPonts Gold Ballroom. In addition, to Bill and Audrey, there are is a great group of scavengers who are helping the Wine Guild get these wines before May 1st. They are Caroline Athias, JB Braun, Joel Brillert, Kyle Ciesielski, Brendan Cooke, Michael De Loach, Bill & Lisa M. Detwiler, Tom and Chris Ditzler, Richard Grosche, Kurt Heyman, David Hill, Meg Hudson, Chris and Carol Jording, Vance Kershner, Chuck Lewis, Michele Mitchell, Kip Poole, Barry Roseman, Alice Ross, Paul Schulze, Craig Schwartz, Jud Louis, Matthew Sullivan, Leah Suzanne, Nina Sygnecki, Bob Trimble, Beth Wells and Darren Wright This is a fun group that loves doing a serious scavenger hunt for great wines at the best value!
