Ancient Elders of Rastafari. Ras Boarneges also known as Bongo Watto or Congo Watu. Second to Leonard Percival Howell or Ganguru Maragh is Ras Boarneges or Congo Watu the founder,High Priest and Patriarch of the Nyahbinghi Order. Congo Watu gave the Rastafari Movement the current image and discourse.The Dreadlocks,Ital Livity,I Sound,the Nyahbinghi Drums and the Nyahbinghi Order which all structures of Rastafari acknowledges as the Afrikan Roots of Rastafari was introduced in the Movement by this Great Teacher and Great Grand Master and a High Priest. Congo Watu came to bless our Country in 1996 with the Sons of Thunder and also to establish the Nyahbinghi Order in South Afrika. Congo Watu is the teacher of many in the Rastafari Movement and the initiator of the Second Cycle of Rastafari after the first Cycle of Leonard Howell,Joseph Hibbert,Archibald Dunkley and Robert Hinds,the first Black men of Jamaica to declare Rastafari Divinity in the Western Hemisphere and the World. Congo Watu began first with the Youth Black Faith,a Rastafari Movement of the Young Rastafari.He visited Pinnacle,the Headquarters of Leonard Howell for ten years reasoning,debating and disagreeing with Elder Howell until he finally left and establish the Nyahbinghi Order in 1947 by the House of Boarneges,together with other Sons of Thunder like Arthur Penhandle,Brother Tuff and Pa Ashanti among others. Congo Watu was one of the 12 Elders who was granted audience of His Majesty Hayle Sellasse I in 1966 when His Majesty visited Jamaica.He was the one who was answering His Majesty Hayle Sellasse I questions about the Rastafari Movement. Congo Watu was one of the Elders who called the 1981 Rastafari International Theocracy Assembly to look at the Unity of the Rastafari Movement and to author the 22 Proposals which the proposal Questioning the Bible as the Conceptual Foundation of Rastafari was one of them. Before he made transition he fire burned the word Jah as Hayle Sellasses name.
