And He Prays (pt. 2) His knees kiss the floor sweetly As his palms connect completely As though a loyal servant of gravity His head bows down like its loyal duty A tear. Another tear. A third tear Every hope. Every dream. Every fear Trickling down, not made of salty water But from his heart like sacrifice on an alter Tears carrying his pain and insecurity Tears from a heart of genuine purity His little heart beats slowly, steadily Beating on Gods eardrums heavily A heart with the sadness of a village The anger of a sadistic savage It beats a rhythm of sorrow and rage A melody that would burn down any stage A melody that grows mighty limbs A heartbeat that has the likes of screams That tear viciously the very sky Shuttering obstacles thick, tall and high He cries a prayer that rips through heaven Swiftly, with a heartbeat heavily grieven He cries a prayer that demands attention- Like its the only possible reaction A prayer that echoes through the universe A prayer that could never be repeated or rehearsed He cries a prayer enveloped in truth only A prayer with no speck of lies or folly His brown tee is soaked in tears As the pain and rage slowly clears His mind wishes his daddy pain and torture But his a little man not given to an evil nature Hes a pure soul, a trend setter So his heart wishes his daddy would be made better That those fist-throwing, hair-ripping hands Will learn to be the most stable bible stands That his rage-infested, anger-holding chest Would soon be a love birds homely nest That his to-bad-places-walking feet Will fit in Jesus footsteps complete His knees hurt, his hands shake But through all this, his composure doesnt quake His tears cease, his eyes dry As his sincere prayers fill the sky He prays for his mothers endurance He prays for her faith and persistence He prays for their broken marriage With not a word, yet he sends his message And when his body starts to fail him As though recovering from a sweet dream, He drifts back to reality when all of the sudden- He smiles cuz somehow, somewhere, someone said AMEN!
