And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians4:11-12 Goodmorning to you! Hope you are thankful for this new day and the gift of life that God has blessed us with. From the above passage we learn that the institution of the Christian ministry (lifestyle) and the appointment of pastors and teachers, etc, is from God and is of divine authority. This week we are going to look at the five-fold ministry which is stated in the above scripture. This is a neccesity in the work of Gods Word and the accomplishment of the Will of God. Look at it this way, a hand has 5 fingers; the thumb is the Apostles, the index finger is the Prophet, the middle finger is the Evangelist, the next finger is the Pastor and the last finger is the Teacher. The five-fold ministry illustrates the need for unity in the body of Christ because no one entity can operate in all 5 offices alone.
