And I had to fight for my SSD even though I have fibromyalgia, - TopicsExpress

And I had to fight for my SSD even though I have fibromyalgia, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic relapsing pancreatitis, COPD, psoriasis, carpal tunnel syndrome, peripheral artery disease in my legs. I was also rear ended 7 different times, last time was by a semi. These resulted in chronic neck and back injuries. Also suffer from migraine headaches. In 1989 I was diagnosed with an extremely rare kidney disease (only 3 of us in the Twin Cities with it.) I was still being told I wasnt disabled enough. I continued to force myself to work even while on dialysis. Finally, I was down to 98lbs and my skin was ashen. My daughters forced me to quit and Social Security finally agreed that I was eligible for SSD. I would say I worked for it. And, yet, I hear of individuals (legal and illegal!) receiving it for learning disability and drug addiction! I have worked since I was 17. And yet, I had to come very close to death before I could collect. This is fair?
