And another one in Oxford Victoria Frazer-Smith looking for a 35 year old: Auditions will be held late November/early December. Shooting will take place from the end of January into February. This will be a twenty minute short film as part of my final year course. Story Outline: Jack and Michelle are struggling to make ends meet after the death of Jack’s father David 6 months ago, and Michelle subsequently leaving her job. After returning from the food bank one afternoon with another dismal collection of food, Michelle decides it is time to start selling some of David’s possessions. The next day Michelle sends Jack into town to pawn an old clock of David’s. On the way in Jack is pulled aside by a strange man, who offers Jack some seeds in return for his clock. Jack believes that they are cannabis seeds and sees the potential profit to be made; the man does nothing to dissuade this idea, referring to the seeds simply as ‘magic seeds.’ Jack accepts his offer and heads home. Michelle is furious that Jack has exchanged the clock for some illegal seeds. She refuses to have them in her house and throws them in the bin. Jack sneaks down later and secretly plants the seeds, leaving them in the kitchen overnight. The next morning Michelle comes downstairs to discover a strange plant growing on her work surface. She calls Jack downstairs for an explanation, pleased with himself, Jack takes a video of the plant and posts it online. After attracting celebrity attention, the video goes viral. One day Michelle and Jack are visited by Mr Boris Fox-Grant, their wealthy landlord, and his PA Jenny. Mr Fox-Grant has seen the plant online and wants to buy it from Jack and Michelle. He offers them a significant amount of money, and then leaves them to think it over, promising to return to hear their decision. Later that afternoon Michelle receives a phone call from a man who introduces himself as the leader of the Golden Fingers a local gardening club. He has been given their number by a friend; Michelle presumes it is Mr Fox-Grant. They arrange for the members to come and visit the plant the next day for a £5 each. When Mr Fox-Grant arrives to hear their decision, he is disappointed that they have refused. After learning about the garden club, Mr Fox-Grant tells them he will manage the all affairs to do with the plant. He tells them we has many contacts, at which point Jenny interrupts talking about Clever Hen Publications hinting that they would be a good place to start. Mr Fox-Grant tells them he will send the contract down for them to sign within the next week. After Mr Fox-Grant’s contract arrives, Michelle and Jack decide to contact Clever Hen Publications on their own. Mr Fox-Grant wants a 50% cut of all money the plant makes. The editor they speak too arranges for one of his journalists to come out and interview them. The following day the interview takes place. The journalist pays them after they promise it will be an exclusive. He hints at a future article. After seeing the article in the paper Mr Fox-Grant storms down to Jack and Michelle’s house. He throws around threats and accusations, promising to kick them out, before ripping up the plant and destroying it. Jenny stays behind to help clear up the mess, advising them that they should sue Mr Fox-Grant for destruction of property. She tells them that at the very least they will get the initial amount that he offered. She tells them about Harper and Gould a law firm with a reputation for taking on unusual cases. A little while has passed. Jack and Michelle are doing a follow up interview with the journalist. They reveal that Mr Fox-Grant settled outside of court and Michelle is planning on using the money to pay for Jack to go through university.
