And as a beggar I stand before you, Begging for Thy mercy, For my shoulders carry more than they wish to bear, A barrel full of sins, A casket as wide as the ocean, ... Overflowing with disobedience, A casket calling me to my grave, My Lord what will I find therein? Will I find Your mercy and grace? Or is to be found my treachery and neglect? My Gracious Lord, how far have I come? The road back to you no longer appears familiar, Tell me, O Lord have I lost my way? Have my sins caused my vision to blur? Has my disobedience caused my memory to falter? O Lord, where am I going? All I desire is to be close to You! You are aware, O Lord, you know I do not enjoy being disobedient, The sweetness lasts but a moment, But Lord, You know deep within - my heart shudders with disgrace, O Merciful One, do not forsake me, I know Im not worthy of Your acceptance, Why must you accept a filthy beggar like me? Why must you permit a soul as wretched as mine, entry to Your beautiful abode of Jannah? My Lord, I am helpless, I have nothing at hand to give, My deeds are weak and filled with faults, My heart is dirty and carries none but shame, O Lord, my heart is filled with a longing for You, O Lord I wish to be dear and beloved to You, Take me out of this wretchedness, Call me unto Your mercy and forgiveness, My Lord I am so unworthy, only You know of my weaknesses, The praises of people do not please me, for before you I stand a sinner, Only you know, what they know not, So how can the words of the blind and oblivious bring me any joy? My Lord, enter me in to Your garden, My Lord forgive my shortcomings, For my soul is fatigued by the constant battle between Your pleasure and displeasure, I wish for nothing but to come home to You, Call me back to You O Lord, Call me back at Thy pleasure.
