And finally Khorana Program for the B.Tech, M.Tech and M.Sc. Biotech students! Khorana Program for Scholars University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India and Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) are partnering to support the prestigious Khorana Program for Scholars named in honor of Dr. Har Gobind Khorana, who won the Nobel Prize in 1968 for his work at the interface of Chemistry and Biology while a member of the UW faculty. The Khorana Program will provide opportunities to Indian students to undertake research at University of Wisconsin-Madison (UW) and partner universities (which includes the MIT!) in summer 2014 for a period of 10 weeks. The Khorana program is making possible the exchange of students between select Indian institutions, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and partner US universities. Undergraduate Khorana Scholars from India will spend the summer in research laboratories at US universities, mentored by university faculty members. They will have the opportunity to become part of major research programs with international teams of scientists. **Please do not contact faculty at US universities, they will arrange for internships when finalists are selected. Who can apply: • Only those candidates (3rd year onwards) who shall be completing their degree program on or after May 2015 are eligible to apply. • Candidates enrolled in B.Tech, M.Tech, or M.Sc courses in Biotechnology (including agricultural, health and biomedical sciences) are eligible to apply. PhD students are NOT eligible to apply. • The applicant should have a have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 8.5 or higher (Percentage equivalent: 85% and higher).
