Hi everyone! Sorry for the sudden spam > < My name is Yuka Kakinuma. I am a junior from the Univ. Tokyo (Todai) in Japan majoring in marketing (especially anime business), and came to UCLA to study for 1~2 quarters as a Visiting Student. Unfortunately I might have a class on Thursday nights (I am still rescheduling classes) and what is worse, I missed the self-intro opportunity. So, I’m sorry to use this group page for a personal purpose but I would like to do a brief (which ends up pretty long) self-introduction here^^ As a years-long anime fan, I belong to a cosplay dance club in Todai ‘I have some of my cosplay photos in my facebook album!) I love writing/ drawing fanfic and publish dojinshi at anime conventions. I was working as a stuff member of World Cosplay Summit (took a two-shot with Reika~^^), doing internship at Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry to help work out on creating a Cool Japan Policy. I was also doing internship at a startup called Tokyo Otaku Mode (some of you may know). Despite my poor English, I have been studying (also as a semester-long visiting student. I am taking two years off from Todai) at Harvard, MIT, and UC Berkeley so far, so UCLA is my fourth university in the US. I can say that JAC is by far the most active and lively anime club ever (To my friends in another univ who might read this post on my timeline : You guys were all awesome but I mean the club itself was a bit smaller…)! I love all kinds of anime/manga but especially I love Evangelion, Kuroko no basket, free!!, and Gintama etc... (I also love songs by One ok Rock/ Ling-to-shite-Shigure, and Sound Horizon.) As I wrote at the beginning, I might not be able to attend the Thursday meetings but I will be in Wednesdays’ fresh produce, and other events. Also, I am so happy if you could get some time to chat/ hang out with me for lunch/ dinner/ whenever convenient for you!! Please let me know if you have a chance to talk ^^! At last, sorry it’s a completely different topic but if there is anyone who might go to or have some advice about how to get to the places/ events below, it will be really appreciated if you could let me know… I want to visit these places while I am in LA but the transportation here is hard to figure out which is safe and which is not (oдolll) -One Ok Rock Live concert in Anaheim (night of 10/22) -San Diego -Las Vegas -Lakers’ game (because of Kurobas…σ(^◇^;) ) -Bruins basketball game (I’m just a Visiting Student so I cannot buy a student ticket without being invited by other students >
