And finally, the best and the worst, the cruelest and the kindest, my most engrained memories of Cycle Cuba all revolve around this gorgeous little puppy. Having witnessed a mans callous act of throwing him over a hedge onto a rubbish dump, with cries and whimpers that will hang deep in my memory, I retrieved him, thankfully physically uninjured, and then with him cuddling in close and still somehow trusting the human race, tried to come up with a solution in a country where no animal rescue or welfare agencies exist. But from the depths of despair emerged a wonderful family who offered him a home, along with their two well kept dogs, their pig and some hens. When I returned some hours later, unannounced, to thank them with a present, this beautiful little creature was happily settling in to his new abode. Hugs all round, photos taken, last cuddle and kisses with the pup, and the most heartfelt thanks to this amazing Cuban family, who certainly Tilley Farm, know how Cool it is to be very Kind indeed.
