And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them. And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense. And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnance, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. And the Angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of a midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush WAS not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: WHICH when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein IS the breath of life, from under heaven; AND every thing that IS in the earth shall die. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
