And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him.(Genesis 37 vs 23). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional. In our Focal Scripture, Josephs brothers stripped him of his coat of many colours. That coat was indicative of nobility and greatness, but it didnt make Joseph great, and in a matter of time, his brother took it away from him. It may have been a treasure to Joseph while it lasted, but he lost it and eventually ended up in Egypt. It seemed that Josephs life had suffered a loss. Notice that when he lost his coat of many colours, he also began a journey that eventually led to his greatness. He lost what he got from a man, and he began a journey towards what God had in store of him. He lost a human package,and he began a journey that rewarded him with a divine package of greatness. Friend, are there coats of many colours in your life that appear lost? Are there things that came your way that were indicative of greatness, but somehow you lost them? Are there things that looked like goodnews and miracles, but in the process of time, they seem to have fizzled out? God says, when you lose your coat of many colours, you will begin another journey that will lead to your greatness. When it seems you have lost what men gave to you, you shall eventually receive what God has in store for you. When it seems a miracle that was on the way is no longer on the way, get set, something bigger will come your way. The coat of many colours may have been good in the eyes of men, but it wasnt Gods ultimate package for Joseph. Dont feel bad when you lose the things you got from men; when you lose mans package, you will gain Gods package. Pray with me,Lord, I believe your word, when I lose what men gave to me, may I gain what You have in store for me in Jesus name. Have a Blessed Sunday!
