And its the weekend...a good one too. This weekend, like every weekend, I took my scooter...Talloulah…out for my early morning ride. It stormed fiercely last night, which usually means…FALLEN ORCHIDS! So I rode along my usual route…down towards the Mekong and past the Presidential Palace (where I had found the other little fallen gem before) when low and behold…a gift from above!!!! I jumped off my scooter and stuffed the HUGE bundle of leaves and roots between my legs and rode home! Luckily, I got home in time to let the workers in to build the new bamboo shelter by the side of the house to hang my orchids. I had completely spaced that they were coming this morning. So I dropped off the bunch of fallen gems and went off for breakfast, after which I made my way to the street vendors’ spot where I found them waiting for me with what I had asked for…paphiopedilums and other gems!!!!! This weeks haul is smaller than any before but cost me much more than ever. But I am thrilled beyond words!!!
