“And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 What often appears as harmless can in fact be very dangerous. In the world today there are many preachers from a wide variety of denominations that package up their doctrines in a way that many people simply do not catch the heresies that are slipped in. While it is true that the Lord God loves and cares for us very deeply nowhere in the Scriptures did He promise us a life without tribulations ( See John 16:33). Millions of faithful servants have been horribly martyred; even the very apostles of the Lord died horrible deaths, with the expectation of John who was exiled on Patmos. Constant prosperity preaching telling people that their lives will be a bowl of cherries and every dream will come true is a lie straight from the mouth of Satan. We are told to seek the things of Heaven and look to that day for our great reward. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” Colossians 3:1-4. This life is a very real battle with an adversary that needs no rest, and is a master of deception. We have all read about our spiritual warfare and why we need to put on the armor of God. We are to seek the Lord diligently, praying always that he stirs up a hunger within us for more of Him. “And give no opportunity to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27
